Including an "ultra-nightmare" difficulty option.

RAGE 2 received its first major update nearly a month ago, introducing new cheats, replayable bandit camps, several gameplay fixes, and more, but its next update, coming in on July 25, is going to be much meatier. Confirmed via the game’s official Twitter account, the update will be introducing three new ways to play.

What are these new ways to play, exactly? For starters, there’s New Game Plus mode, which, of course, lets you start a new save with all your progress from a previous save intact in terms of updates and character progression. Then there’s the Ultra-Nightmare difficulty option, which is exactly what it sounds like. Also being added is the Ironman Mode, which the tweet doesn’t describe much (or at all), so we’re going to have to wait for more info on that front. Either way, all this should provide plenty of incentive to jump back into the open world shooter.

RAGE 2 is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Make sure to read our review for the game – in which we call the game “an accomplished first person shooter, but a bland and disappointing open world experience” – through here.
