Of all the first party PS5 exclusives showed off at their recent reveal event (and there was no shortage of those), Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart – much to the surprise of many – was probably the most exciting. Not only was it great to see Insomniac and Sony investing in another major entry in the beloved series, Ratchet – with its instantaneous rift teleportations using the console’s SSD – was also probably the only game in the entire show that gave us a glimpse of things games will be able to do on the PS5 that they could not do on current gen hardware.

Another surprising thing the game’s trailer showed us was a mysterious female Lombax. Details on who she is and what her role is in the story will probably come at a later date, but Insomniac Games have confirmed some other news about her. Over on Twitter, they have confirmed that alongside Ratchet, this new female Lombax from another dimension will also be a playable character.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is in development for the PS5. It does not currently have a release date.
