Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Rayman Legends Retold. The trailer, which you can check out below, showcases more than a minute of gameplay from one of the new musical stages being added to the title in the remake. This time around, players can look forward to running through the level while a rendition of the classic 1993 Los Del Rio track Macarena plays.
Considering the Spanish origins of the song, there are many hints throughout the level of the country’s culture. Along with this, we also get some hints of Mexican culture, including a massive luchador hanging out in the background and doing the iconic dance, his hands even acting as platforms to run and jump across when he opens them up.
Along with entirely new visuals that were built from the ground up, Rayman Legends Retold also features quite a bit of new content, like a new world filled with its own levels and four new musical stages. Aside from Macarena, the new musical stages are also set to include MC Hammer’s Can’t Touch This.
Technical director Thibaut Assandri had confirmed back in June that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the remake would run at 60 FPS, with 4K resolution when the console was docked. Assandri spoke about the value of technology like DLSS that allows for lower-resolution rendering targets that can be expanded on to larger displays through AI-based image upscaling.
Rayman Legends Retold is coming to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 1st.
