Vivid Games’ Real Boxing finally has a release date as the developer announced that it will be releasing on the PlayStation Vita on August 28th in the UK on PSN. It will retail for €9.99/£7.99.

SCEE Senior Business Development Manager Shahid Ahmad stated that “We’re thrilled to be working with Vivid Games to bring an excellent boxing game to the PS Vita. “Real Boxing is a visceral delight that really shows off the power of the PS Vita.”

Built using Unreal Engine 3, Real Boxing looks to bring realistic boxing to the handheld in the best way possible. There will also be in-depth multiplayer modes to hold tournaments through online and ad-hoc play, along with the usual Career and Training modes.

It will also utilize much of the Vita’s mechanics, including a mini-game to escape from clinches by tilting the device. Real-time deformation technology for those bone crunching moments, broadcast-style commentary and dynamic crowds only add to the atmosphere.
