Back in August, Tarsier Studios showcased the first 13 minutes of gameplay from Reanimal, its upcoming co-op horror adventure. As it turns out, however, this didn’t include the opening story bits, which start with The Boy alone in the water. Check it out below, courtesy of IGN.

After saving The Girl (who “thanks” him with a sudden choking), the two set out to find their friends. Narrative director Dave Mervik reiterates the game’s support for local co-op and the importance of that “shared tension,” like sitting down with someone to watch a horror movie. The duo eventually happen upon a location which, as showcased before, is full of terrifying monstrosities.

Reanimal will release in Q1 2026 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. However, a free co-op demo is available starting on October 13th for PC via the Steam Next Fest. Players can explore the Trainyard and Mill while trying to outrun the Sniffer.
