Red Dead Redemption 2 launched for the PS4 and Xbox One last year to great critical reception and impressive global sales, but the one question that’s been on everybody’s mind for a long time – even before the game launched – is- when is it coming to PC? It’s a question that keeps getting asked, and one that Take-Two Interactive keeps dodging– but it seems there’s yet more evidence to suggest that a PC release is not far away.
Twitter user JakoMako51 has been digging around in the source code for Rockstar’s Social Club, and has found a string specifically mentioning “RDR2_PC”. It’s also right next to a string that mentions “RDR2_PS4”, which lends even more credence to the fact that it’s referring to a PC version for the open world title. Take a look below.
This isn’t the first time a PC release for Red Dead Redemption 2 has been leaked. Prior to the game’s launch last year, strings mentioning a PC version of the game were found in the official Red Dead Redemption 2 Companion App. Following that, not too long ago, a PC version for the game was spotted in the resume of a former Rockstar employee. Just recently, in fact, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick himself also said he sees “no downside” to releasing the game on PC. The evidence keeps piling up- here’s hoping it finally gets officially confirmed soon.
The fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PC is now quite evident. #RDR2 #reddeadredemption2pc #RedDeadRedemption2 #rdr2pc #reddeadredemption
