Red Dead Redemption 2

Rockstar has been talking up Red Dead Redemption 2’s large and living world a great deal in the months leading up to the game’s launch, and from everything we’ve seen and heard of the game so far, it looks like it’ll live up to the high expectations. One of the components of its living world is going to be the wildlife, which is going to be pretty important in the game, given its focus on hunting as a mechanic.

Recently, Rockstar revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will have almost 200 species of wildlife in the game, which is a staggering number no matter how you look at it, and today, they’ve released some beautiful new screenshots showcasing some of this wildlife. Except we only get to see six of those nearly 200 species.

What we do see, though, looks excellent. The bisons look huge and hulking, and you can see individual strands of the fur around their faces (I’m a huge sucker for good hair graphics), while the red fox standing in the beautiful snowy environment looks simply majestic. You can take a look at all screenshots below.

Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on October 26 for the Xbox One and PS4.
