Dontnod Entertainment and Capcom created an impact at Gamescom 2012 with Remember Me, a high stakes, Assassin’s Creed-like action adventure that had players controlling Nilin in Neo-Paris as she struggled to reconstruct her memories.
As a memory thief, her basic objective involved stealing memories from individuals for the right price – which is exemplified in a new trailer from Capcom, as part of a “late Christmas present”.
In the trailer, Nilin is tasked with stealing the memories of a famous architect. It’s not long before her position is compromised and the district of St Michel is locked down. But then she encounters a rather unique (and familiar to her) character in the guise of Kid Xmas.
As a boss of sorts, Xmas is looking to beat down Nilin in a virtual ring, live on Neo-Paris’s TV network. Of course, Nilin has other ideas, but whatevs.
The trailer ends with Nilin proclaiming her name, and that this time, “You’ll remember me” before crushing the camera at her feet. Bad-ass.
Remember Me is currently slated for a release this year on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
