According to new reports on the internet, the Wii U, Nintendo’s next-gen home console, will be released on November 18 this year in the US, and a week later in Japan. A European release date has not been specified yet.
It’s noteworthy that the Wii, when it was launched back in 2006, also released on November 19, two weeks later in Japan and three weeks later in Europe.
The information was obtained via a leaked memo from a Japanese retailer, and WiiUDaily descired it as an “email circulated among staff at a game store in Japan, the Akihabara-based Media Land, one of the most popular video game shops in Tokyo.”
Earlier this year, Nintendo confirmed that they want to release the Wii U in time for Christmas, going as far as giving a set release window, saying it’ll probably launch this autumn.
It all points to the conclusion that this report may just be legit.
