Resident Evil 2 Remake Isn’t A Remaster – Capcom

The remake will be built from the "ground up" according to Capcom.

Remember that time Capcom announced a remake for Resident Evil 2 following the success of Resident Evil HD Remaster? Though the company’s recent investor report said that the project was a remaster, it seems that it’s actually built from the ground-up to be a remake.

This was clarified by Capcom UK marketing director Stuart Turner who said on Twitter that, “Seems to be a few people picking up a mistranslation in our own investor report. RE2 will be a full from the ground up remake NOT a remaster.”

Considering that Resident Evil HD Remaster was an HD update to the remake from 2002, this is good news. It means the visuals will be much better this time around and the gameplay itself will feature more comfortable controls. At least, that’s what we hope it will be without going fully third person shooter.

Are you looking forward to the remake now that it’s going to be a proper remake? Let us know in the comments.
