We’ve seen multiple Resident Evil games making their way over to iOS and Mac devices of late, with Resident Evil 7, Village, and last year’s Resident Evil 4 remake all having made that jump. As per reports, none of the games have really managed to sell too well, but it seems Capcom is keeping that train going.
The company has announced that 2019’s Resident Evil 2 remake will be releasing for iPhone 15 Pro models and all iPad and Mac devices with the M1 chip or later sometime before the end of this year. A specific release date hasn’t yet been announced.
As of June 30 earlier this year, Resident Evil 2 had sold over 14.2 million units across all platforms. In our review of the remake upon its 2019 release, we awarded it a score of 10/10, saying, “Resident Evil 2 is not only an accomplished remake that should serve as the blueprint for how to re-imagine beloved classics, but is an incredible game in its own right- so much so, that it might even stand as one of the very best games this venerated and decorated franchise has delivered to date.” Read the full review through here.
Resident Evil 2 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
