While rumors are already flying about the next Resident Evil game to release next year, which allegedly is Resident Evil 8 with lots of potential spookiness, Resident Evil 3 just released last week. The series is as healthy as ever right now, but one thing that wasn’t too healthy was the performance on Microsoft’s top tier Xbox One X system. Though the game ran mostly at full 4K, the performance took a big hit because of it compared to other versions. Now, though, a new update is here to smooth things out.
The latest update, 1.05, is live now. There’s no patch notes out, only stating its aimed to improve the game’s Xbox One X performance. Though the update is only 100 MB, it does seem to have done the trick for most people, bringing the Xbox One X version to a comparable standard to the other consoles. You’ll have to download it to see if you can tell the difference yourself.
Resident Evil 3 is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Xbox One X performance update is live now. You can read our review of the game’s single player campaign through here.
