Resident Evil 7 Will Not Have Microtransactions

Thank you, Capcom.

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard

Resident Evil 7 will not have any microtransactions whatsoever, Capcom have confirmed to VideoGamer, in the process putting to rest the worries that millions of fans worldwide may have had. Unlike most Capcom games released in recent times, which have had microtransactions present in some form or the other (including the PS4 console exclusive Street Fighter 5 that released earlier this year), Resident Evil 7 will be completely microtransaction free.

“Whilst there will be pre-order bonus items and DLC available to purchase for Resident Evil 7, there will not be any micro-transactions in the game,” Capcom confirmed.

Of course, there is a very thin line that separates DLC from microtransaction- Capcom may be arguing semantics here. Let’s hope that when they say there will be no microtransactions, they actually mean it, instead of hoping to get away on some kind of technicality.

Resident Evil 7 will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in January.
