Capcom recently announced that fans of the Raid mode will have to wait for online playability in Resident Evil: Revelations 2 – it won’t be receiving online support until the final episode is out in March. However, this also extends to the co-op campaign.

4Gamer recently spoke to Capcom who revealed that while there will be a co-op mode, it will only be playable offline. Whether online support will be offered later on hasn’t been revealed just yet.

Other new details include how players will be able to switch characters in campaign mode and how the atmosphere will mirror the survival horror of the classic games. That means no weapons from the outset. Interestingly, the story has no connection to the first Revelations.

Given Capcom’s success with the classic survival horror of Resident Evil HD, could Resident Evil: Revelations 2 signal a renaissance for the series? We’ll find out when it releases in February.
