Speaking of which, in this same segment, you have Ethan barricading his surroundings like in Resident Evil 4. While cool, it never really comes into play ever again, either because no further situations demand it – due to their design – or facilitate it, especially as Ethan’s weaponry becomes more potent and capable of dealing with numerous foes at once. Perhaps this is a consequence of having so many different types of environments and set pieces that each offer something unique. Maybe this was meant to be a mechanic for just that segment. Either way, it’s a shame to see it never come up again.
