Later this year, we will get the next mainline entry in Capcom’s eternal survival horror franchise with Resident Evil Village. Tomorrow is set to give the game a big showcase where we will see more footage and information, and potentially a release date. While we don’t know the specifics, it does seem as if it could be time for Capcom to show a multiplayer mode as well.
As spotted by the folks at Wccftech, the game’s SteamDB page was just updated to add a tag for multiplayer, which was not present up until the later parts of yesterday. While nothing has officially been said about a multiplayer mode for the game, recent leaks have shown there is some type of multiplayer competent that will potentially have some tie into with multiple Resident Evil titles in the future. Capcom also has sign ups for a closed beta on some unknown Resident Evil project ongoing, though whether that is directly related to Village is unknown.
Resident Evil Village has been announced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. A showcase focusing on the game is set for tomorrow, January 21st.
