Resident Evil Village’s Lady Dimitrescu And Her Castle Are “Just A Section” Of The Game, Says Art Director

Your tall vampire lady might not be present throughout the game.

Resident Evil Village Tall Lady

Resident Evil Village will be upon us this May, and it promises a bigger experience than the previous mainline game, Resident Evil 7, as well as plenty of next gen upgrades for those versions of the game. However, over the last few weeks, no one has cared much about that and instead Lady Dimitrescu took over the internet for a brief period of time. The over 9 feet tall vampire lady struck a cord with many, but it also seems she may not be all that much in the game itself.

Village‘s Art Director Tomonori Takano spoke to IGN about the character. Partly he spoke about the inspirations of how she was designed, with many influences such as the Hasshakusama Japanese urban legend and very real life killer Elizabeth Báthory. He made an interesting comment, though, about Dimitrescu and her castle, saying, “What we’ve shown so far — Lady Dimitrescu, the village, and the castle — encompass just a section of Resident Evil Village.” While not explicitly saying it, seems like the beloved tall vampire lady may not be a large part of the game.

Resident Evil Village is set to release May 7th for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.
