In case you couldn’t get enough of the franchise following the abysmal Resident Evil Retribution, director Paul W.S. Anderson has confirmed at the recent Beijing International Film Fest that another sequel is in the works.

According to CCTV, Anderson stated that, “I have to go home tomorrow for writing Resident Evil. That’s what I’m going to do.”

He also confirmed that Li Bingbing, who played Ada Wong in Retribution, will be returning to reprise the role in the sixth film. “As you know, Bingbing is in the last movie and she will be there again.” He also stated that the next film would “definitely be 3D”, the director added. Lead actress Milla Jovovich will return once more but is likely to be done with the franchise after the sixth film.

Does this mean that Alice’s story will finally be wrapped up? Can we finally praise the sun and look for an actual ending this time? One can certainly hope.
