Ridley Scott, the legendary film maker who gave us science fiction masterpieces such as Alien and Blade Runner, might be working on the long languishing Halo film project, VG247 reports.
Not much is known about this project (what we know comes from a Twitter conversation), but it ties into Spielberg’s halo TV series (which Microsoft confirmed wasn’t just ‘filler’ recently); the Halo film project has had a long history in development hell. At one point, it was supposed to be headed by director Peter Jackson of The Lord of the Rings fame, but after years of protracted pre-production troubles, that fell through.
Microsoft persisted with trying to bring Halo to the screens, and that is where the aforementioned Spielberg Halo TV project comes from.
In any case, this promises to be a big year for Halo fans, as the Xbox One installment of the franchise, referred to officially only as Halo for Xbox One (but colloquially called Halo 5), due some time before the year end.
