Rise of the Tomb Raider (11)

Crystal Dynamics’ Rise of the Tomb Raider is nearly upon us and in the meantime, 27 minutes of gameplay footage has emerged courtesy of IGN that reveals the beginning scenes of the game. Obviously spoilers are in-bound so if you want to go in completely blind, you’ve been warned.

The beginning shows Lara Croft scaling a snowy mountain, much in the same way the trailer from E3 2015 showcased. You’ll be able to see how this plays out in-game though and what comes after.

Lara isn’t upstart fighter from the 2013 reboot though – she’s a calm, skilled survivor who now forages for her materials, can craft weapons and employs either stealth or brute force to eliminate her foes. For its part, Crystal Dynamics is promising a much lengthier adventure this time around so we’ll find out how just far Lara’s rise can go.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is out on November 10th for Xbox One and Xbox 360. It will be out on PC in early 2016 and PS4 in Holiday 2016.
