Rise of the Tomb Raider (12)

Microsoft’s E3 2015 press event marked the debut of gameplay footage for Rise of the Tomb Raider, Crystal Dynamics’ sequel to the 2013 reboot. This marks the first time gameplay footage of the sequel has been showcased. Check it out above.

The trailer sees Lara Croft traversing through a cave, the real time lighting showcased admirably thanks to the flare in her hand. The harshness of the Siberian climate is fully apparent here and it’s especially dangerous, when say, climbing up a frozen cliff-side, facing an avalanche or rappelling through the frozen landscape. Regardless, the game looks very good and the platforming mechanics look incredibly solid. The end of the trailer showcased a bunch of other locales in the game so stick around for it.

Rise of the Tomb Raider releases for Xbox One and Xbox 360 this Holiday season. What are your thoughts on the gameplay footage showcased? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and stay tuned for more updates and information from Microsoft’s E3 conference.
