Rise of the Tomb Raider Screenshots Showcase Harsh Environments

Lara Croft will be traversing to Siberia in her next adventure.

Crystal Dynamics’ Rise of the Tomb Raider just received some stunning new screenshots showcasing the game’s wintery environments and the dangerous obstacles Lara will have to overcome in her new quest. It’s worth noting that one another character is showcased in the screens, outside from the usual cutscene. Perhaps a co-op character or an ally who will tag along for the ride?

We can also see that Lara won’t be spending all of her time in Siberia. As revealed by the developer, there will be special areas with differing climates and temperatures, prompting our favourite Tomb Raider to don the tank top once more. For the most part though, we’ll be contending with all kinds of horrors, including bears.

The snow will benefit players in some ways though as they can track animals by the prints left in the snow. Rise of the Tomb Raider is out later this year for Xbox One and Xbox 360. What are your thoughts on the new screens? Let us know in the comments.
