Psyonix’s critically and commercially successful arcade sports title Rocket League will be receiving a physical retail release this year. This was confirmed by Jeremy Dunham, VP Marketing & Communications, on the Colin and Greg Live show on Twitch.

The retail version will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. So essentially for all platforms where you can currently pick up the digital version. The studio noted on Facebook that the retail version would be “special”. More details are currently pending.

Rocket League recently released for Xbox One with its past DLC and some extra additions like vehicles and cosmetic items based on Microsoft exclusive franchises like Gears of War, Halo and Sunset Overdrive. It’s already crossed 11 million downloads on PS4 and PC as of February 17th, and more content is currently planned to capitalize on its success.
