Psyonix’s Rocket League just continues to rise in success – marketing executive Jeremy Dunham revealed in an interview with Kinda Funny that the game has crossed $70 million in revenue on the PS4 and PC. It also seems that the game sold 4 million copies on both platforms.
There are obviously a number of interesting things revealed by these figures. Several days ago, Psyonix revealed that the total number of players stood at 11 million and that sales numbers don’t include downloads from the free PlayStation Plus offer in June 2015. This would indicate that 7 million users downloaded it for PS4 but Psyonix hasn’t confirmed as much. The sales figures also don’t include the recently released Xbox One version, most likely since it released on February 17th itself.
Nonetheless, the jump in revenue from $50 million in December 2015 to $70 million in February 2016 is incredible. More Rocket League content like the Batmobile from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is on the way so stay tuned for more information on the arcade sports title.
