Rogue Legacy 2

Cellar Door Games has released a new animated trailer for Rogue Legacy 2. It also confirmed that the rogue-lite side-scroller would exit early access on April 28th, launching on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store as well as for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.

Rogue Legacy 2 can best be described as a bigger, better version of its predecessor. Along with a new art-style, it offers 15 different classes, each with its own play-style. Of course, since this is essentially a story told across generations, you can choose from a handful of descendants with differing strengths and defects to go with their classes.

Some of the newer additions to the formula include Heirlooms which give permanent powers once unlocked; Traits 2.0 which offers more gold depending on how punishing a trait is; and Relics which modify stats and grant new abilities. If the difficulty is too punishing, then new House Rules allow for modifying global damage, granting flight and much more.

Stay tuned for more details and patch notes when version 1.0 arrives later this month. Check out our review for the original game in the meantime.
