Cellar Door Games’ Rogue Legacy 2 has received a very sizable update in the form of The Drifting Worlds. It adds a new biome in the Sun Tower, two new classes – the Lancer and Boxer – and Fabled Weapons among lots of other features. Check out the release trailer below.
The new classes are perhaps the game’s most interesting yet. The Lancer is capable of charging their Dragon Lance and surging ahead to deal damage but miss and there could be repercussions. The Boxer, meanwhile, is all about attacking enemies up close with punches before knocking them back. Further adding to the diversity of each run are Fabled Weapons which provide strong abilities (but at a cost).
The Mastery System has also been overhauled to provide more XP the deeper one ventures. For those seeking a challenge, there are new Commanders which receive a random buff and can prove tougher than the average foe. Then there’s the Drift House which provides unique challenges, Threads for New Game Plus levels and much more.
Rogue Legacy 2 is currently available in early access for PC. It’s set to release in 2021.
