Ruffian Games, the development studio behind Crackdown 2, is in the hiring market. A good portion of their open positions directly relate to next ten console development, which means that we can expect some next gen action from the studio in the near future. The job ads were place in the Scottish Games Network’s classifieds.

Here’s the description: “We need up to 3 engineers for a large C++, next gen console project that we are working on for ship next year.”

Rumors have been running rampant regarding the development of Crackdown 3, although there has been no confirmation on the subject. Phil Spencer of Microsoft has been vocal about the possibility, but has also stated that a next gen Crackdown would need the right team.

Either way, Crackdown 3 or not, the more next gen games we’ve got on the market the better. With different developers offering their talents to testing the software’s limitations, the more we have, the better feel we’ll get for the full extent of next gen capabilities.
