While the odd fanboy may gloat over Last.FM’s exclusivity to the Xbox 360 (wtf?), it appears that the popular music streaming service was exclusive to Microsoft’s little white explosive box for only a year. Which means, rejoice PS3 fans. Rejoice.
The news was revealed via an interview with Last.FM VP, Orlena Yeung in the latest Official Xbox Magazine. Of course, fanboys being faboys, it sparked speculation that the service could soon make it over to PS3 once the November exclusivity date passes. Yes, some of us are that sad.
The service has apparently fared excellently on the Xbox 360, where two million users signed up for the streaming service in the first four months. Obviously, then, the lucrative PS3 market will be eyed, and it is entirely possible that come November, we’ll be seeing this on Sony’s Cell powered machine.
Of course, what’s interesting is if, like Netflix, we’ll also see Last.FM on the Wii. Now that would certainly be interesting.
