After sharing a video about the impact of the Russian invasion on Ukraine, GSC Game World showcased the opening of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. It starts with a truck making its way to the Exclusion Zone (with the player character in the back) and eventually spinning out of control. The protagonist awakens, gazing upon some strange gravitational phenomena before getting ready to process.

Like previous titles in the series, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl offers a mix of survival, immersive sim and first-person shooting. Players are free to choose their path through the story and must take care to sleep, eat and avoid radiation. Various factions abound in the Zone, some friendly and others not so much. There are over 30 different types of weapons and various mods to customize them.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was slated to launch this December but faced another delay due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. It’s coming to Xbox Series X/S and PC in 2023 along with launching day one on Game Pass.
