Earlier in the year we got the very surprising announcement that a new game based on the action-packing animated series, Samurai Jack, would be coming to current systems. The series was something of a cult classic when it launched in the early 2000s and recently saw a more mature final season revival in 2017. Now, it’s time to go back, and now we know when.

Via IGN, we’ve got an official announcement of the date alongside a new trailer. And it’s coming soon, too, as you’ll be able to play it next month. The game will serve as canon and does seem to have at least some ties to the game’s finale as you can see scenes and characters from the before mentioned final season. The game takes on the same art style as the show, and allows you to master multiple weapons fans will find familiar.

Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time will release on August 21st for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. If you need even more Samurai Jack action, you can check out the latest gameplay trailer through here.
