Samurai Shodown

We’re getting close to the release of SNK’s Samurai Shodown, and they are getting close to finishing off the introductions to the game’s base roster cast. Today we get one of the most colorful characters in an already rather colorful cast with Kyoshiro. It’s not just his creepy face paint that’ll intimidate opponents, he’s got the moves to back it up as well.

Kyoshiro’s look is based heavily on the Japanese style of theater called Kabuki. His wild look is backed up by his spear attacks, which have a slight reach advantage against most other fighters, who happen to be sword fighters. He can also summon a giant frog, apparently, so there’s that. Check it out below.

Samurai Shodown will be available June 25th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Q4 for Switch and PC, and will launch with Stadia in November.
