Three classic characters and a question mark.

Samurai Shodown Tam Tam

The clink of swords means the return of Samurai Shodown. The long dormant SNK franchise returned to life last year with solid critical reception as well as financial success. It’s had a pretty steady stream of content since that initial release, with a full post-launch season that saw several fan favorite characters return. Now, a second season is coming, and we’ve got a list of who is coming with it.

The game’s director recently talked about the amount of thought that went into creating a new character, but for the second season pass, it’s all about the returning fighters. Mina Majikina, Sogetsu Kazama, and Iroha are all making a comeback in the second season. A fourth character will also be part of the pack, but it’s shrouded in mystery for now. Series protagonist Haomaru showed up as a guest spot in Soulcalibur 6, so could Bandai Namco be repaying the favor? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Samurai Shodown is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia. Switch and PC versions will launch in February. You can check out the trailer for season 2 below.
