Scalebound

If you remember Scalebound (and you should) from E3, you no doubt remember a VERY Japanese-esque game involving large dragon-ish creatures, big swords, earphones, magical armour and a character that has more than a passing resemblance to DMC’s Dante.

Well the game is being released to a, quite frankly, Western dominated market. With that being said, fans understandably wanted to know if Hideki Kamiya (director) and his team will be altering the games overall design to closer match that of a Western targeted game.

Answering this in his usual no-nonsense manner, he simply said “No.” Gotta love a man of few words.

Microsoft’s Phil Spencer, who’s Head of Xbox at the minute, decided to chime in and said “Not really. @platinumgames have built great games based on their design philosophy, we aren’t trying to modify that.”

While we’re talking about Phil, he revealed some news regarding the latest iteration of the Crackdown franchise which had gamers oh-so very hyped. He said, “Probably no Crackdown news for the rest of 2014. Team is making progress but they need time before we show anything again.”

It’s a bit disappointing that Crackdown might not be showing its face before the year is out, just how badly this will affect Phil’s desire to “win” this generation, remains to be seen.
