Rare’s Sea of Thieves will start its closed beta on January 24th at 4 AM PT and it will be available until January 29th, 12 AM PT. If you took part in the Insider Program prior to December 1st 2017 or pre-ordered the game, then you’ll receive access.

Not much information was provided about the beta’s content but Rare did note that it offers a “a true taste of the pirate life.” Those pre-ordering digitally will see the beta appear in their Xbox One library 24 hours prior to its start. Physical retail pre-orders will need to redeem a code that came with the Black Dog cosmetic pack, after which the beta will appear a day prior to its start. Installation size for the beta has not been confirmed.

Sea of Thieves launches in full on March 20th for Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. If you pick up the themed Xbox One controller on February 6th, you’ll access the Ferryman Clothing Set and receive a 14 day free trial of Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass. Check here for more details.
