Rare’s Sea of Thieves has received a new developer diary video which sees senior designers Andrew and Shelley Preston. This time, the focus is on the game’s cooperative aspects.

For instance, each player will have assigned roles. One player may be tasked with reading the world map while the other informs the ship’s captain of the information. The map can be interacted with by all players and it’s possible for a player to hold the map up for other players to read it.

You’ll also be digging for treasure in the game and working together to transport it. It is possible to be attacked by other players, thus necessitating the need to defend your precious cargo and sell it for a pretty penny.

Sea of Thieves will be releasing later this year for Xbox One and PC. What are your thoughts on the gameplay thus far? Let us know in the comments below.
