There is a lot of issue one can take with the live service model in games. And there has been plenty of titles and publishers who have flubbed it pretty hard. But there are prime examples of how the model can work well, with one of those being Sea of Thieves. While the game’s launch state left a lot to be desired Microsoft and Rare have done wonders to bolster it in the game it is today, and people are certainly digging it even years after that launch. Now, it’s time for a new update, one of the more spooky side.

The newest update is live now and it’s called Haunted Shores. As you’d expect, it’s all about the ghosts. The update will bring the Flameheart’s Flagship, a challenging ghost ship, as well as making ghost ship encounters a permanent addition to the game. You’ll also be able to get new Phantom Cannonballs, Flame Phantom Cannonballs and Wraith Cannonballs. You can check out the video below for more details or through the official site here.

Sea of Thieves is available now for Xbox One and PC. The game is also confirmed to get enhancements for the upcoming Xbox Series X.
