Rare’s Sea of Thieves continues to chug along with a new update out next week. In its latest developer video, the studio announced that The Fort of the Damned Halloween update would release on October 16th. It’s exact contents are unknown but you will see more female clothing options, changes to combat and accessibility options.

When in combat, the transition from fighting to sprinting will be improved. Pets will also make less noise during duels which should help your earbuds. Also, an option to toggle instead of holding a button down for item use and aiming is also being added.

Perhaps the most interesting announcement was regarding private servers. Executive producer Joe Neate confirmed that they wouldn’t be coming with next week’s update. But the idea is to facilitate players who organize races and events. It might be some time before a concrete plan for private servers materializes so stay tuned.
