At the beginning of this year, Rare promised that it would be adding new limited-time story-driven Adventures to Sea of Thieves throughout 2022, and the developer has very much made good on that promise. Hot on the heels of the most recent adventure, Lost Sands – which went live a month ago – Rare has now offered a glimpse at what’s next.

A new cinematic trailer sets up Sea of Thieves’ next adventure. Titled “The Forsaken Hunter”, it will focus on legendary sailor Merrick, who, after his deeds at the Golden Sands, has gone missing. Investigating his mysterious disappearance and possibly tracking him down will serve as the primary impetus of this new adventure, which goes live on June 30, and will remain live until July 14.

Rare recently confirmed that July will also see the launch of Sea of Thieves’ season 7, which will bring with it several Captaincy-focused features, including naming your ship and customizing and redecorating its interiors, among other things. Read more on that through here.

Sea of Thieves is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
