FromSoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an entertaining game, even if it’s not necessarily the kind of game for you. Much like other FromSoft games, there are tons of secrets and little details to discover. So without further ado, let’s get into it. Spoilers for many plot points and endings inbound.

The Bell Demon

Sekiro Shadows Die Twice_03

Sekiro is a pretty tough game, especially as you get further in. But there’s a way to make it even tougher. When outside the fortress near the Underbridge Valley Sculptor’s, follow the path to the first Headless enemy. Run past it and you’ll find a shinobi escape door which will take you to a special bell shrine on Mount Kongo. Ring the bell and you’ll receive the Bell Demon item, which makes the game harder but also increases the XP and Sen earned from enemies. To disable hard mode, navigate to the Bell Demon item in your inventory, and simply use it.
