At one point in the first Hirata Estates, you’ll come across the Owl himself, resting near the Bamboo Thicket Slope. Before giving you the key, he says this line: “I’m afraid I made a bit of a blunder.” There are many deeper implications to that line but perhaps more important is how familiar it is. In Bloodborne, when meeting Eileen the Crow at the top of the Grand Cathedral steps when she’s friendly, her dialogue includes this line: “I’m afraid I’ve made a bit of a blunder.”
