In a recent Windows Central report highlighting a lot of new details about Obsidian’s upcoming Avowed, author Jez Corden also talked a bit about a potential showing of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 this year. He did suggest that the game may be shown off during The Game Awards this year.
According to his sources, Microsoft plans to show more of the game by the end of the year, and given the current time, The Game Awards is the only stage left. However, he does mention some uncertainty with the plans as well, so it’s best that fans keep expectations in check for now.
“I teased on my podcast recently that I’d bet money that we’d see another Xbox exclusive, Hellblade 2, at The Game Awards this year — since I’ve indeed heard that it was in the plan to show more of the game by the end of the year. Perhaps we could get a two-for-one deal and see Avowed show up there too, but it may be too early just yet,” Corden said.
This comes shortly after journalist Jeff Grubb claimed much of the same. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 was announced at The Game Awards in 2019, so it does make some sense that Microsoft would use the same stage to reveal more information about the game. On the flip side, a rumor that PlayStation has been working on a big remake set to be announced in December has been gaining traction lately as well.
