After the abortive attempt that was made to bring Shadowrun into the next generation, Harebrained Schemes has finally nailed the proper look and nostalgia factor of the game – if their trailer which gives us a first look at the alpha-stage gameplay is any indication.
Funded by Kickstarter, Shadowrun Returns takes place from an isometric perspective like the original game. With the Shadowrun tabletop RPG creator Jordan Weisman at the helm, the game will also feature several character types such as Street Samurai, Combat Mage, Hacker/Decker, Shaman, Rigger and Adept. And it looks like the series’ propensity for dialogue-driven choices remains as well, which will increase replayability.
As if that weren’t enough, a game editor will also be included to allow one to create their own levels and quests. That much bang for only $15? It’ll certainly look like a steal when Shadowrun Returns releases on Android, iOS, PC, Linux and Mac OS X this Summer.
