Shadows Die Twice Gameplay Reveal At E3, “Totally Different From Dark Souls” – Report

Update: Concept artist's interview has been redacted and deleted.

Shadows Die Twice

Update: The ResetEra thread has been locked. Administrator ZhugeEX noted that the story has been redacted and deleted from Zoomg. So for now, best to treat this as a rumour and nothing more until E3 2018 starts in earnest.

Original Story:

One of the most mysterious – and most anticipated games – going into E3 2018 is From Software’s Shadows Die Twice. Teased at last year’s PlayStation Experience and considered to be Bloodborne 2, the developer has offered little to no information on what expect.

However, the first details for the game come from a rather unlikely source – concept artist Sepide Donne, who was a UI artist on Bloodborne and concept artist for Dark Souls 3. Donne was recently interviewed about her work by a website in Iran called Zoomg and offered information on Shadows Die Twice. English translations are offered courtesy of ResetEra’s Toolifercle and moderator Dusk Golem.

First off, Donne notes that while the game is still “Soulsborne-esque”, it has a totally different theme and gameplay. More specifics were not offered but Donne said that the story is “deep and fantastic”. Perhaps the most interesting aspect is that actual gameplay will be shown “this week” and once again, it will be fresh and totally different from Dark Souls.

From Software currently has three projects in production – Shadows Die Twice, a new VR title (which will also be announced this week) and an unannounced title. The developer is currently targeting the release of one game in a year.

Obviously, considering the nature of the source, it might be worth taking these details with a grain of salt. However, given Donne’s credentials and even the fact that a ResetEra moderator is reporting on the news (while also noting that the reveal will be “super soon”), there might be plenty of legitimacy to it.
