There was no shortage of skepticism surrounding Silent Hill 2’s remake following its announcement a couple of years ago, but recent showings have looked increasingly promising. Following an extensive showing in May, Konami and Bloober Team’s remake has now received another new trailer, this time focusing entirely on the game’s story, and it, too, looks promising.

Fans of the original will see plenty of familiar characters and sequences in the trailer, though of course, with instantly noticeable visual and technical enhancements. There are some noticeable tweaks to spot, but by and large, the trailer gives the impression of a faithful recreation. As far as the cutscenes, performances, and visuals are concerned, there’s plenty to be pleased with in this trailer. You can view it below.

Silent Hill 2 will launch on October 8 for PS5 and PC. Stay tuned for more updates and details on the survival horror remake in the lead-up to its launch.
