Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno has provided an update on Silent Hill 2 in an IR/conference following the group’s consolidated annual report for 2023 (via MauroNL on Twitter). He noted that the team is “in the final stages of work” on the remake, and “We expect that a release date and platforms on which the game will appear will be revealed soon.”
Babieno’s lends further fuel to rumors of a PlayStation Showcase in May, where Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb reports it will be featured. With Sony marking the remake for release this year, it seems like the perfect opportunity to finally announce release date, especially with posters reportedly spotted at GameStop earlier this month.
The part about “platforms” is intriguing since Silent Hill 2 is already confirmed to be coming to PS5 and PC, so we’ll need to wait for more details. Nevertheless, Bloober Team could also reveal its apparently revamped face for protagonist James Sunderland, which players spotted via SteamDB. The new face is seemingly in keeping with the original’s look and has received more positive feedback from fans.
