The Last Great Silent Hill
But perhaps what makes Silent Hill 3 such a treat after the second game is that it was truly the last great game in the series. Even with its development challenges, different direction, mature themes and gruesome imagery, it stands out to this day as a triumph of story-telling. It’s to the credit of Team Silent that it sought to capture the series’ essence while telling a new story instead of simply living up to Silent Hill 2’s success. History may not always remember it but Silent Hill 3 stands out as one of gaming’s greats, and an unforgettable experience.
