Following its update on lifetime sales for the series, Konami announced in a press release that Silent Hill f has shipped over two million units worldwide as of April 22nd. Its last milestone was over one million copies sold within a day of launch for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
Developed by NeoBards Entertainment, better known for multiplayer efforts like Resident Evil Resistance and Re:Verse, Silent Hill f is about Shimizu Hinako in the fictitious Ebisuagaoka during the 1960s. Despite abuse from her father, she seems to get along well with her friends. That is, until a telltale fog descends on the village, unleashing monsters. By the time she’s transported to the Dark Shrine, a version of the Otherworld, things take an even more fantastical turn for Hinako.
Despite mixed reactions to its combat (which ended up fairly serviceable), Silent Hill f was praised for its storytelling with Ryukishi07 of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and Umineko fame penning the narrative. Artist Kera’s creature designs also received acclaim, adding to the overall strong art direction.
