Konami kicked off its recent Press Start showcase with a new look at upcoming survival horror game Silent Hill: Townfall. The new trailer gave us a look at how the core story begins, with protagonist Simon Ordell being asked to come back to the town of St. Amelia in Scotland to “put some things to rest”. Check it out below.
The upcoming horror game’s emphasis on analog technology is also on full display in the trailer, with Simon being equipped with the portable CRTV that has been showing him some strange things. Along with a few glimpses at the creepy creatures that will likely end up chasing Simon, we also get to see Emmy Award-winning actor Terry O’Quinn showing up.
Other cast members, like Kezia Burrows and Jovan Adepo – who plays Simon – were also showcased throughout the trailer. Along with the strange atmosphere of the title, the trailer also shows how things can quickly get out of hand. Following the trailer, producer Motoi Okamoto came on stage to reveal some more details about the upcoming title.
He confirmed that Silent Hill: Townfall will be an entirely standalone game that tells its own story within the larger Silent Hill timeline. Through this, the title will be “welcoming” to franchise veterans as well as those new to the series. Okamoto’s time on stage was capped off with another video that featured messages from the development team and the game’s various actors.
Silent Hill: Townfall is coming to PC and PS5 on September 24th.
