Hideo Kojima not being able to finish what he started with PT and make that full Silent Hills is one of the biggest heartbreaks of our industry in recent years, and calls for him to make a horror game have been frequent in the years since then. Kojima himself has talked about his desire to do so time and time again in the last few months- and there’s a chance that he might be looking to do that as part of an exciting collaboration.

Recently, during an interview at Comic-Con 2020 (which you can view below), famed Japanese horror mangaka Junji Ito suggested that he’s been in talks with Hideo Kojima to work on a new horror game. When asked if he’s currently working on a video game project, Ito said that he isn’t, but has had some discussions with Kojima about a horror project- but there are no details on it yet.

Said Ito through a translator: “I do know director Kojima and we have been in conversation that he may have a horror-based game that he may be doing, and so he has invited me to work on that, but there are no details on it yet.”

I’m sure most would agree that Ito and Kojima would be a deadly combination, especially when working on a dedicated horror game. Hideo Kojima has been teasing early work on an upcoming project in recent days, so perhaps the wheels are already in motion- here’s hoping, anyway.
