Hideo Kojima Wants To Make The Scariest Horror Game

Death Stranding director is watching horror movies to awaken his "horror soul."

P.T.

Before Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima was collaborating with director Guillermo del Toro on something called P.T. The “game” was little more than a demo meant to hype up Konami’s Silent Hills. However, Kojima’s departure and Konami stopping development on the title put a halt to those horror ambitions.

But that doesn’t mean Kojima is done with the horror genre entirely. He recently tweeted about renting Thai horror film The Eye when developing P.T. but was too scared to finish it. However, in order to “make the scariest horror game”, Kojima is looking to watch scary movies to awaken his “horror soul.”

Though The Eye isn’t the scariest movie per say, Kojima’s declaration about making “the scariest horror game” could point to future plans. Granted, Silent Hills won’t likely be revived anytime soon but if P.T. was any indication, Kojima’s twisted vision could be realized in a whole new property. He’s only just released Death Stranding though so we’ll have to wait a while before these horror ambitions become reality.
